National Hazing Prevention Week is officially held from September 21 - 25, where many universities across the country including Ohio State raise awareness and increase education about hazing. Our objective is to educate, empower and stand up against hazing in all forms to promote a positive change in our college community.
Anonymous Reporting
The Ohio State University offers anonymous reporting through a secure platform, EthicsPoint. Students, faculty and staff, and community members can submit reports confidentially, providing a safe and accessible way to share information. Reports can be submitted using the EthicsPoint reporting form or calling the EthicsPoint Hotline at 1-866-294-9350.
* Anonymous reports may not satisfy one’s reporting obligations under the university’s Anti-Hazing Policy or the Code of Student Conduct.
Reporting Requirements
Hazing presents a serious risk to the health and safety of our university community and will not be tolerated at Ohio State. To create a community free of hazing, we must first report hazing when we experience it, see it or suspect it. It is imperative that everyone with knowledge of hazing reports it. Ohio State students and registered student organizations are required to report hazing as the failure to prevent, intervene or report acts of hazing may also be considered acts of hazing.
Ohio State University Reporting Requirments
Section 3335-23-04 (L) of the Code of Student Conduct prohibits hazing and includes in the definition of hazing the failure to intervene, prevent or report acts of hazing. Students should report hazing by submitting a report using this form.

Collin’s Law, Ohio’s Anti-Hazing Act has additional reporting requirements:
Sec. 2903.311 (B) No administrator, employee, faculty member, teacher, consultant, alumnus, or volunteer of any organization, including any primary, secondary, or post-secondary school or any other public or private educational institution, who is acting in an official and professional capacity shall recklessly fail to immediately report the knowledge of hazing to a law enforcement agency in the county in which the victim of hazing resides or in which the hazing is occurring or has occurred.
The Ohio State University is committed to promoting a safe and healthy campus environment, where students are free from hazing. Hazing impedes the university’s vision of being the model 21st-century public, land grant, research, urban, community-engaged institution.
Ohio State prohibits hazing, and all members of the university community are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that maintains an environment free from hazing. Ohio State's Anti-Hazing Policy defines expectations for the university community around hazing and establishes mechanisms for addressing behaviors that violate these expectations. The policy further establishes requirements for hazing education and reporting.
